kristen and john - homey ceremony & vintage vibes at the flower shop, ny

October 13th 2024

Right at home

Nothing says intimate quite like a wedding at home— to tie their knot, Kristen and John invited friends and family into their warm Jersey City home, filled to the brim with one of-a-kind artwork, personal touches, and photos of the couple throughout the years.

As a cherry on top, warm daylight poured in through the windows, illuminating the couple throughout the ceremony while many a tear was shed.

Family and friends mingled briefly before shuttling into a school bus. The cheauffer brought everyone into Manhattan for a kitschy and sweet reception at The Flower Shop, a bar that feels delightfully plucked out of 1970.

Guests enjoyed donuts and wedding cake, and made jubilant toasts with custom cocktails in hand. By the end of the night, I was handed the aux and took a turn as DJ. I like to think everyone was in favor of my mix of 2000s pop-punk and R&B, or at least everyone was having too good of a time to complain.

Another one for the books! And who knows, maybe I’ll pivot to becoming a Wedding DJ? Or maybe not….
